Don't know where to start. OK maybe Kath first. Who is super duper amazing and helpful and awesome. You were so accommodating and relaxed it made our whole wedding experience that much more special. Thanks for the awesome props to help decorate our wedding space. Dave and I literally can't thank you enough.
The lodge was awesome. Warm and great setup clean. Facilities were great and when we turned up you had fairy lights on for us it looked amazing. So if you are considering a holiday or an ocassion in Mangakino please consider booking the lodge I highly recommend it and myself Mt husband family and friends thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Thank you Kath you rock!!!!!

Thanks for the great place to stay. Loved the dining table and the deck  - a perfect place to stay while doing the Waikato River Bike Trail, which we found challenging and beautiful. Enjoy the pictures.

"Perfect hostel in cute Mangakino", Nadine, stayed December 2013
We were only 2 guests in the hostel but the manager Nadine told me that a group of other visitors just left the hostel a day before I arrived. Mangakino is a very small town and not very touristy which is a good thing. It is a perfect place to relax and hang out at the nice lake. The hostel is very clean and comfortable and Nadine is very helpful. It is definitely one of the best hostels in NZ I've seen so far. A perfect home away from home! :)

"An ideal place to stay when following the river trail" Stayed November 2013, traveled with friends
This is an excellent place to stay if cycling or walking the Waikato River trek. It is very well appointed .. Although one of our party thought that a dishwasher would have been the icing on the cake in the kitchen. Plenty of cutlery and crockery and utensils. A very warm welcome from Nadine who refreshed towels etc. The covered outdoor area was a welcome addition to the common area. We would recommend Lake Maraetai Lodge to individuals and groups.

"Surprisingly comfortable and luxurious", stayed November 2013, traveled with friends
For the price and the photo we expected a basic homey place but we found it sparklingly clean, very well stocked, great beds, towels and showers. The deck is a great amenity and the big table encouraged a friendly atmosphere with other guests.

Would stay again using at as a base for visiting Pureora, or just in passing through and needing a bed for a night.
Would be ideal for a big group of family or friends to book out.

Friendly helpful management , all the amenities you could need, comfy rooms , great shower pressure and heat. The kitchen is well stocked with plates, glasses etc and there is an abundance of fridges. Good common area, can't recommend highly enough, great value.

We hired out the whole lodge for our under 16 crew and it fitted our needs exactly. The rooms were clean, the showers were great and the kitchen was well stocked with all the basic tools we needed. Sarah-Jane was always on hand with an answer to any question we had, and it was always with a friendly smile.

"A Mountainbikers must", November 2012 - traveled with friends
If you are looking for a new mountainbike experience on the Waikato River trails you must stay at Lake Maraetai Lodge. Beautiful spot, lovely clean rooms and comfortable beds. Plenty oh showers and bathrooms. Sarah Jane was super helpful and friendly, couldn't do enough for us. You can actually hire out the whole lodge eg for birthday or other celebration. So its a great spot for large or small groups wanting to explore the area. Not a huge lawn for tents, but very comfortable to fit a few. The new deck is a great size and very protected from wind and sun so after your excursion (ours was a whole day mountainbiking) you can relax and unwind with a few bevvies and have a laugh with some mates. Just what the doctor ordered.

Hello again Davina, I have a full weekend ahead with family from all around at the Lake Maraetai Lodge but feels its ABSOLUTLY ESSENTIAL that I congratulate you on not only your choice of new managment but also on the incredible changes at the Lodge.

I wasn't quit sure what I was going to find here but after seeing the completed decking, I felt excited for the weekend ahead.

To drive up with a convoy of 5 vehicles initially and walk around the corner of the deck to see the awesome sight to behold .. WOW. Fantastic.

Every single person has been astounded at the Lodge and it's revamped facilities. I am sure that word of mouth will indeed work it's magic here.

I wanted to wish you all well however, with Sarah Jane ensuring such a welcome - you don't need luck because you are sure to have success.
There is much I haven't even touched on however, we leave the country for a month on Monday and I may not have the opportunity so send an email again.

I am so thankful that I kept my initel booking because I would never in a million years have expected such a transformation.
